2008 Beijing Olympics Results: Men’s Volleyball from Sunday
Men’s volleyball action got underway at the 2008 Beijing Olympics on Sunday with both Group A and Group B teams taking the court for their first matches.
In Group A play Bulgaria beat China 3-1 (25-20, 25-21, 26-28, 25-19); Italy topped Japan 3-1 (25-19, 25-18, 23-25, 25-17); and the United States edged Venezuela 3-2 (25-18, 25-18, 22-25, 21-25, 15-10).
In Group B play Poland blanked Germany 3-0 (25-17, 33-31, 25-20); Brazil beat Egypt 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-18); and Russia bounced back from a first set loss to beat the Serbia Republic 3-1 (20-25, 25-21, 25-22, 25-14).
