2008 Beijing Olympics TV Schedule for Thursday, August 14

The 2008 Summer Olympics began Friday in Beijing, China as the world's best athletes compete for a gold medal.

The TV schedule for the Olympics activities on Thursday has been released. NBC begins its coverage at 1:35 a.m. with men’s water polo as the U.S. takes on Serbia. MSNBC will air men’s basketball as the reigning gold medalists Argentina takes on Croatia, followed by Russia vs. Lithuania.

CBUT begins their coverage at 3 a.m. with men’s baseball as reigning gold medalist Cuba takes on Canada. Jennie Finch and the U.S. softball team will take on Canada on CBUT at 3 p.m.

Michael Phelps will participate in swimming’s 200-meter individual medley finals, beginning at 8 p.m. on NBC. Phelps is on pace to win eight gold medals during these Olympics, setting the Olympic record for most gold medals in a single game.

At 11 p.m., USA will broadcast the U.S. baseball team vs. Cuba, as well as the U.S. women’s basketball team, which features Candace Parker, Lisa Leslie and Diana Taurasi, against Spain.

Beach volleyball, men’s handball, swimming, badminton, diving, rowing, wrestling, archery, women’s gymnastics, boxing, tennis and are all on Thursday’s schedule.
