Halcyon Way of Atlanta Georgia Talks about their Music in YourFindit Interview

The members of the Atlanta based band Halcyon Way took some time to speak with  YourFindit’s Rebecca Firth about their music, the band’s history and their hopes for the future.  Participating in the interview were band members Lead vocalist Sean Shields, rhythm guitarist Zane, drummer Earnie Topran and bassist Kris.  Guitarist Jon Bodan was unable to join the call.

Formed in 2001, Halcyon Way has worked together to create a unique sound that is strongly influenced by prog power and dark metal.  Comparable to the likes of Slayer and Dream Theater, the band gains inspiration from progressive bands such as Symphony X, Evergray and Cohesive.  Although their music is “radio friendly” and often includes hooks and choruses, the band takes great care to develop polished music in the spirit of European metal.

Halcyon Way is currently unsigned, but they are in the process of considering three deals with various labels.  With a new album on the verge of release, Halcyon Way is caught making the decision of whether or not to go ahead and release the album as is or wait for a major label to sign them first.  Manifesto for Domination is expected to be released by the end of the year, hopefully under the name of a record label.
