Jay-Z Confirms "Blueprint 3" As Next Album, Reveals New Single "Jockin' Jay-Z"

Jay-Z announced recently that his next album will be entitled Blueprint 3 with his first single called "Jockin' Jay-Z", which featured Kanye West.

Blueprint 3 will be the third installment of his Blueprint series, following 2001's The Blueprint and 2002's The Blueprint 2: The Gift and The Curse. It will also be his third album since his retirement in 2004.

Jay-Z was a surprise guest on West's "Glow in the Dark" tour concert at Madison Square Garden on Aug. 6. Jay-Z and West unveiled the song "Jockin' Jay-Z," which features a sample from Oasis and Run DMC. During the performance, he and West yelled out Blueprint 3.

In an interview on Shade45 radio show on Sirius XM, he confirmed that Blueprint 3 will be the title of his next album, but did not reveal when the album will be released. "I don't know if will come out this year," said Jay-Z. "But we'll see."

He said that he has three songs done already, including "Jockin' Jay-Z". Rumors say that a song called "Victory" will be released next. He did not confirm when "Jockin' Jay-Z" will officially be released on the radio.

In January, his song "Ain't I", which featured Timbaland, was released and said to be on the Blueprint 3. Timbaland told reporters that he and Jay-Z were doing a collaboration album, but during the Shade45 interview, Jay-Z denied that statement.

"We talked about doing an album together, but it's premature," said Jay-Z. It is not sure which producers will be on the album, other than West.

He declined the MediaTakeOut report that his deal with Live Nation is going sour. Jay-Z signed a $150 million with Live Nation in April. He still has one more album under his Def Jam contract before he begins recording under his label with Live Nation called Roc Nation.
