Isaac Hayes Funeral Arrangements Set For Monday in Memphis
The funeral arrangements for legendary musician Isaac Hayes were announced Wednesday. The funeral will take place in Memphis on Monday.
The memorial service for Isaac Hayes will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday morning at Hope Presbyterian Church, which is located at 8500 Walnut Grove Rd. in Cordova, TN, a suburb of Memphis.
Hayes, who was best known for his work on the "Shaft" soundtrack, died at age 65 last Sunday of a stroke. Hayes was found dead inside his Memphis home. At that time, the cause of death was unknown until reports on Wednesday determined that he suffered a stroke.
Hayes grew fans in the younger generation due to his work as the voice of "Chef" on the hit cartoon "South Park" on Comedy Central.
Hayes had recently finished work on Soul Men, an upcoming film starring Samuel L. Jackson and Bernie Mac.
Bernie Mac also died this weekend, passing away on Saturday after complications with pneumonia. Bernie Mac's private funeral will be held in Chicago on Friday, but his public memorial service will take place on Saturday.
