According to a report from AP sports writer Alan Robinson, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dennis Dixon will be receiving knee surgery on Wednesday and will be out for an indefinite length of time. Dixon was hurt during the first quarter of the Steelers' 19-11 defeat of the Tennessee Titans on Sunday night. Charlie Batch had to fill in for Dixon for most of the game; interestingly, even though Batch has been with the Steelers since 2002, that is the most he has played in a single game since 2007. Ben Roethlisberger, the quarterback who has led the Steelers to two Super Bowl titles, is still serving a 6-game suspension for breaching the NFL's personal conduct policy, so that leaves Batch and Byron Leftwich to start as QB for the Steelers on Sunday.
