What is Rock Bottom?

“Rock bottom” is a phrase that refers to a drug or alcohol addict’s all-time low. This can be anything from financial ruin or overdoses, to loss of family and children. It has become increasingly popular to throw around this phrase in regards to those who do not want, or who have not found success in drug and alcohol treatment. For instance, “They just have not hit rock bottom” is often said in an attempt to rationalize why the person does not want or is not taking the help. However, one treatment center has found a reason for an addict’s refusal to get help and it does not have anything to do with hitting rock bottom.

Narconon Louisiana is a long-term, inpatient drug and alcohol rehab developed for those who have or had trouble with more traditional, 12-step method to recovery. In a field where the success rate is often times not discussed, Narconon Louisiana stably achieves a 76% success rate for permanent recovery. The facility attributes their success rate to finding out why the person resorted to drugs and alcohol in the first place. Narconon Louisiana works with a client one on one to figure out what problem or problems in life they were handling by using drugs. Once this problem is isolated and handled the person no longer will go through life attempting to cover up their thoughts and emotions with drugs and alcohol.

What about those who have every intention to maintain sobriety, but continuously fail? Narconon Louisiana does not consider those types of addicts are different. In fact they know exactly why that person has not found success. Because drugs and alcohol are a solution to some sort of problem in an individual’s life, the substances become very necessary. When you ask someone to enroll in a treatment center, or abstain from drugs, you are basically asking them to give up something they have used as the answer to a problem they are trying to solve. In a warped way, drugs become a solution and giving up that solution appears non-survival.

To combat this phenomenon, Narconon Louisiana attacks addiction in a number of ways. Clients are able to rid their bodies of the toxins and residues that are responsible for cravings, one of the main culprits of relapse. They do this by completing a sauna detoxification program. Additionally, they undergo counseling to uncover the traps and landmines that make drugs and alcohol a solution, working one on one with a counselor to tackle life problems that have arisen and will arise again.

In the end, everybody’s rock bottom is the same – death. Do not wait until it is too late. Call Narconon Louisiana at 866-422-4650 for more information.
