Seven Killed in Memphis House Fire

A house fire in Memphis, Tennessee claimed the lives of five children, a teenager and a mother on Saturday.

The fire engulfed the two-story brick home shortly after 5:30 a.m. and by the time firefighters arrived there was little that could be done.

Two teenagers and an 11-year-old boy were able to escape the flames and made it out of the house. All three were taken to a hospitable and are in stable condition.

According to family members the woman killed in the fire was identified as 38-year-old Melissa Poole. She lived in the home with her four children. A niece and nephew were reportedly visiting at the house when the fire broke.
