Saturday August 16, 2008 the World Cornhole Championship Tailgate Bash was held in Cincinnati on Fountain Square. For the second year Easter Seals Work Resource Center organized the Tailgate Bash that includes a cornhole-athon tournament between teams
from local businesses playing on Easter Seals manufactured boards and an ACO World
Cornhole Tournament.
The feature event is an invitation-only cornhole tournament pitting the best 16 professional cornhole players from a five-state area against each other. All equipment is American Cornhole Sanctioned Equipment assuring the players of consistency in cornhole board play.
Players started the day with a Cornhole Frame Game scoring round to determine the seeding of the tournament. For the next 6 hours spectators were treated to the Best in Cornhole. These players take their game seriously and at this level of play consider cornhole a sport.
The tournament is a best of three series, winner advancing. The number one and two seeds Randy Atha of Sharonville, OH and Matt Guy of Alexandria, KY advanced to the Chapionship Round with Matt Guy taking Champion honors.
