Greetings From Above: Visitors Can Now Send Video Postcards From Atop CN Tower in Toronto Thanks to BobbleVision and Phoenix Kiosk

Phoenix Kiosk Develops Video Kiosk Hardware for BobbleVision

Visitors to the Western Hemisphere's tallest tower – the CN Tower in Toronto, Canada – have started sending record-your-own-video postcards to friends and family from a height of 1,465 feet above ground level. Phoenix Kiosk delivered customized kiosk hardware for BobbleVision’s proprietary video postcard application that was installed today inside "Sky Pod," the world's highest observation deck at the CN Tower.

“We’re thrilled that our kiosks will be adding to an amazing visitor experience atop one of the world’s tallest destinations,” said Garris Shipon, Founder of BobbleVision. “Our kiosks create a unique way for visitors to share their excitement with friends and family.”

Founded in 2008, BobbleVision works with national attractions and venues to offer record-your-own-video postcard kiosks. In order to make his vision for the kiosks a reality, Shipon approached Phoenix Kiosk for a highly customized solution. Phoenix Kiosk, which provides an in-house staff of engineers, analysts, and developers, works closely with BobbleVision on each project to provide a unique kiosk that fits the specific needs of an attraction or venue. The kiosks created for CN Tower are wall-mounted and specially designed to accommodate BobbleVision's media creation system.

The video postcard kiosks are simple to use. Visitors choose a postcard design, record a 30-second greeting, and transactions are finalized with a credit-card swipe. BobbleVision video postcards are shared over and over with friends and family via email links and Facebook posts.

"There's an extra benefit to the venue since each postcard effectively becomes a customer testimonial complete with banner links back to the venue's e-commerce site." Shipon added, "It's like an ad campaign where customers actually pay to create and send the ad."

BobbleVision charges $2.50 per postcard and revenues are shared with the venue.

“It’s enjoyable to contribute to a successful, exciting project with BobbleVision and their client CN Tower,” said Alan Work, General Manager of Phoenix Kiosk. “BobbleVision has a very unique and captivating concept, and we’re excited about the opportunity to tailor kiosks for them in the future.”

Shipon stated that Phoenix Kiosk has consistently delivered quality kiosks on time and on budget.

“I can rely on them,” he said, “and that is why I have stuck with Phoenix Kiosk.”
