Boart Longyear Limited is an integrated provider of drilling services and drilling products for customers in the mining and minerals, environmental and infrastructure, and energy industries. It conducts these activities through two operating divisions: the Global Drilling Services and Global Products divisions.

The Global Drilling Services division operates in over 35 countries. It provides services to a diverse customer base and offers a range of drilling technologies, including diamond core drilling, rotary drilling and sonic drilling, to suit its customers’ requirements. The Global Products division manufactures and sells capital equipment and consumables to customers in the drilling services industry globally. These products include rigs, coring tool and percussive tools.

On February 22, 2008, it acquired Britton Brothers Diamond Drilling. In May 2008, the Company announced the acquisition of Aqua Drilling & Grouting Pty Ltd. In July 2008, the Company acquired Westrod Engineering.
