Bristol Should Have Listened To Mamma - Dancing With The Stars Embarrassment

“Mama told me not to do it,” says 19-year old Bristol Palin on her Dancing With the Stars debut styled as who else but her powerhouse mother and former Vice-Presidential candidate, Sarah Palin.

Bristol danced alongside other B-grade personalities including Mike Sorrentino, David Hasselhoff and Michael Bolton in the US’s most anticipate series return, with over 21 million viewers tuned in to watch the popular contest.

Palin’s performance began with her dressed in an oh-so-familiar grey suit which was later torn off by her dancing partner to reveal a miniscule red dress underneath. Palin confessed that it was the most frightening thing she has done in her life, but underneath it all she is just an ordinary girl; not an entertainer or performer, just really “nervous.” The nerves came through in her performance, but she just missed bottom place with 18 points given by the judges. Hasselhoff and Sorrentino along with comedian Margaret Cho tied for last with 15 points each.

The standout performance was by one-hit-wonder Jennifer Grey who starred alongside the late Patrick Swayze as ‘Baby’ in the 1980’s cult classic ‘Dirty Dancing.’ Grey was emotional as she revisited the song she danced to with Swayze for the film.

Palin’s performance may have kept her out of the bottom, but the judges were unanimous that she needs to step up her performances to stay in the competition. The public votes will soon be revealed and but no one expects Palin to be out just yet.
