Ahmadinejad Lashes Out At Israeli Leader During TV Interview

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has blasted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a TV interview, calling him a "skilled killer" who deserves to be "put on trial for killing women and children".

Speaking to CNN's Larry King, Ahmadinejad denied that his country is suffering as a result of international sanctions, and said that Tehran has no plans to build a nuclear bomb. According to Ahmadinejad, nobody has any doubts over Iran's intentions apart from "the Zionist regime and some American authorities."

The US and other Western countries aren't convinced with Tehran's constant denials, whereas the International Atomic Energy Agency says that it is not sure whether Iran's nuclear program is for military reasons. Global powers are pushing Tehran to resume talks over its nuclear program soon. Iran, however, has not answered their request.

Meanwhile, the Iranian president once again insisted that Iran doesn't have any intention to develop nuclear weapons, nor does it think that they are useful. Ahmadinejad said that he believes both the US government and the Zionist regime need to be disarmed. "The threat to the world are the bombs that the U.S. government and the Zionist regime have", he said.

While Ahmadinejad has often challenged US presidents to face him in one-on-one conversations in front of the international media, he clearly didn't commit to meeting Obama when asked about it in the interview. However, Ahmadinejad said that it will be very useful to discuss issues with representatives of other states in the presence of the media, so that everybody can know what he has to say and this could help sort out many problems.
