2008 Beijing Olympics Results: Shawn Johnson Captures Gold in Women’s Beam in Gymnastics

Shawn Johnson wrapped up her 2008 Beijing Olympics with a gold medal as the highly decorated American gymnast captured gold on the beam Tuesday, topping her teammate Nastia Liukin with a nearly flawless routine.

Johnson scored a 16.225 on the beam to finally ascend to the top of medal podium.

Liukin, who already captured the women’s overall gold, had to settle for silver after scoring a16.025 on the beam.

China’s Cheng Fei wrapped up her country’s impressive run in women’s gymnastics with a bronze medal effort on the beam, scoring a 15.950
