Christine Ohuruogu takes home a gold medal for Great Britain after winning the women's 400-meters track event Tuesday in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
Ohurogu, the reigning world champion, ran the 400-meters in 49.62 seconds, followed by Jamaica's Shericka Williams (49.69) and USA's Sanya Richards (49.93).
Richards was leading the race heading into the stretch, but Ohuruogu closed the gap and surpassed her. Williams followed suit.
Ohuruogu was banned from track and field in 2006 for missing three drug tests. Her personal best in 49.61 seconds, just 0.01 seconds from her gold-medal winning performance on Tuesday.
