SpanAir Flight Tragedy, More than 140 Killed in After Plane Crashes During Takeoff

The loss of life attributed to the crash of SpanAir Flight 5022 in Madrid, Spain continues to mount as the latest death toll has been listed at more than 140. Of the 172 passengers and crew believed to be on board the flight only 26 are said to have survived.

Flight 5022 was destined for Las Palmas in the Canary Islands and as it was moving down the runway the pilot lost control and the plane swerved off the runway and into an area of heavy brush.
