A new report released by Dr. Stephen Cantrell of NeoPlas
Innovation stated that the drug Lovastatin, commonly used to lower cholesterol,
may be a successful treatment for mesothelioma patients.
According to the report, the combination of Lovastatin and
low-does Interferon has successfully shrunk cancerous tumors in patients
suffering from melanoma and various other cancers, including mesothelioma.
Lovastatin was released in 1980 and is generally used to
treat high cholesterol. Laboratory scientists soon recognized its abilities to
kill off cancer cells.
