Suicide Bombers Kill at least 55 at Pakistan Munitions Factory

At least 55 people were killed on Thursday when two suicide bombers detonated explosives outside a military munitions factory in Pakistan

The attacks occurred in the town of Wah, about 18 miles north of Islamabad.

According to reports the first bomb detonated just outside the gates of the factory as workers were leaving their shift. Moments later a second blast detonated at a second gate at the same factory. All of those killed in the blast were believed to be factory workers.

Shortly after the attack the Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for the killings and claimed they were carried out in retaliation for the deaths of “innocent women and children” in Bajaur. A spokesman for the group said the attacks would continue as long as the Pakistani military remained in tribal areas.
