Russia Ends Military Cooperation with NATO

Russia has notified NATO that it is halting its military cooperation with member nations as the conflict in Georgia continues to mount.

Carmen Romero, a NATO spokeswoman, recognized that Russia had notified the alliance of its decision to “halt international military cooperation events between Russia and NATO countries.”

Despite signing a peace deal earlier this week that outlined a plan to remove troops from Georgian territory Russia has maintained a military presence in the neighboring country and shown no real sign of leaving.
