At least one person has died and several more were left injured after a train derailed near the village of Brunheda in Portugal on Friday.
The train, carrying about 50 passengers, had been traveling from Tua to Mirandela and came off the tracks in the Carrazeda de Ansiaes region. There have been reports that indicated the train fell into a ravine after coming off the rails in the popular wine-making area.
An early report indicated that the dead passenger was a young girl and several of the injured were considered to be in serious condition. Many of the injured are believed to be still trapped inside the train.
