2008 Beijing Olympics Results: Spain Defeats Lithuania, Advances to Gold Medal Basketball Game

The Spanish national team defeated Lithuania, 91-86, on Friday to advance to the gold medal game in men's basketball in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Pau Gasol led Spain with 19 points, while Rudy Fernandez added 18 points. Felipe Reyes added 13 points and Carlos Jimenez added 11 points and seven rebounds.

Sarunas Jasikevicius and Simas Jasaitis led Lithuania with 19 points each. Jasaitis shot 5-for-10 from behind the three-point line, while Jasikevicius added six assists.

Spain advances to the gold medal game to take on the winner of the USA-Argentina game, which begins at 10:15 a.m. EST. Team USA defeated Spain 119-82 in the preliminary games.
