Small Plane Crashes into Las Vegas House, Three Killed

A small plane taking off from the North Las Vegas Airport crashed into a home shortly after becoming airborne, killing the pilot and two people inside the house.

A Federal Aviation Administration spokesman described the plane as an “experimental” aircraft that could be built from a kit. Just after taking off the pilot radioed from the Velocity 173 RG and said he was going down. Moments later the plane slammed into a house just southeast of the airport.

The pilot and one individual inside the house were killed instantly and a second individual inside the house died after at the University Medical Center in Las Vegas.
