2008 Beijing Olympics Results: Zou Shiming Takes Gold in Men’s Boxing Light Fly Weight
Zou Shiming captured China’s first ever gold medal in Olympic boxing after beating Mongolia’s Serdamba Purevdorj in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
The fight was a bit anticlimactic as Zou was up on points 1-0 when Purevdorj’s corner threw in the towel in the second round due to a shoulder injury.
With the win Zou earned the first ever gold for his country and they added a second when Zhang Xiaoping won gold in the light heavy weight division.
