Sen. Hillary Clinton will give a speech addressing the audience at the 2008 Democratic National Convention on Tuesday night.
Clinton will look to urge her supporters to honor her endorsement of Sen. Barack Obama as the presumptive Democratic presidential candidate. According to the schedule, Clinton will give her speech around 10:30 p.m. EST.
Over the last couple of months, it has been widely known that a rift remains between Clinton and Obama supporters as a large number of Clinton supporters have pledged to cross party lines and vote for Republican candidate John McCain.
In addition to bridging the gap in the party, Clinton will give her speech at the 2008 DNC on the 88th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote. Clinton was looking to become the first woman to lead her party as their presidential candidate.
The 2008 Democratic National Convention will begin Monday at 3 p.m. at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado. On Thursday, the DNC will move to Invesco Field at Mile High Stadium as Obama gives his highly-anticipated speech after he accepts the Democratic nomination.
The DNC is thrown every four years by the Democratic National Committee to nominate and confirm a candidate for President and Vice President, adopt a comprehensive party platform and unify the party.
