At least 5 people were injured Sunday when a water taxi crashed into a pier in Seattle, Washington. The U.S. Coast Guard said about 78 people was on board the taxi when it slammed into Pier 50 in Elliot Bay just before 12 p.m.
According to one witness on board the taxi, the impact sent several passengers flying into glass windows. One person toppled overboard and was rescued while 5 others suffered minor injuries.
Before the crash, the captain warned passengers to brace for impact. "We heard the boat sputtering, and then we saw the captain was running around saying, 'Something's not right. Something's not right. Brace yourself for impact.' It all happened so fast," says one passenger.
