A high school football player in New Jersey has succumbed to injuries he sustained on the practice field, marking the second death of a player in two days in the state.
Douglas Morales, 17, was injured on Friday at a scheduled football practice for Cliffside Park High School. Police were called and when they arrived they found Morales unconscious. He was rushed to a hospital in Teaneck but on Tuesday night he passed away.
An autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of death.
On Monday 13-year-old Sean Fisher was celebrating his birthday when he lost consciousness at his football practice. Paramedics attempted to resuscitate the teen but he was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital in Ridgewood.
