Georgia Bulldogs Football Schedule Released, Season Opener on Saturday
Georgia Bulldogs will begin their 2008 season against
UGA enters the season with lofty expectations and their first AP No. 1 ranking in school history. They return 14 starters (seven on offense and defense each), including quarterback Matthew Stafford and Heisman Trophy candidate Knowshon Moreno, who ran for 1,334 yards last season as a freshman.

On defense, preseason first-team All-SEC selection linebacker Darnell Ellerbe recorded 93 tackles last season, 29 more than anyone else on the defense. Defensive tackle Geno Atkins had 14.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks after starting just seven games for UGA. Cornerback Asher Allen had 64 tackles last season and grabbed two interceptions in the Sugar Bowl.
