FBI Most Wanted Michael Jason Registe Captured in St. Maarten

An FBI Top 10 fugitive was arrested yesterday morning in St. Maarten. Michael Jason Registe was wanted for the July 2007 murders of Columbus University students Bryan Kilgore and Randy Newton Jr.

Registe shot Newton Jr, 21, and Kilgore, 20, in the head in the parking lot of Cross Creek Apartments in Columbus, Georgia on July 20. He was put on the FBI’s Top 10 Most Wanted list last month. The reward for his capture was raised to $100,000. Registe was featured on the FBI’s “America’s Most Wanted” and several tips on his whereabouts were received after the show aired.

Registe was arrested around 11 a.m. at a guest house in St. Maarten by a SWAT team. He faces extradition back to Columbus.
