Barack Obama to Accept Nomination, Give Anticipated DNC Speech on Thursday

Sen. Barack Obama will officially accept his Democratic presidential nomination in the most-anticipated speech of the Democratic National Convention on Thursday.

The speech will take place in front of an estimated 70,000 people at Invesco Field at Mile High Stadium in Denver, the home of the NFL's Denver Broncos. Obama will give the address at the stadium's 50-yard line and the time of the speech is estimated around 10 p.m.

On Wednesday, Obama was officially nominated as the Democratic Party's candidate for the President of the United States. His VP candidate Sen. Joe Biden accepted his nomination as vice president on Wednesday night during his DNC speech.

Obama's speech is the most-anticipated speech of his political career. Ironically, it falls on the 45th anniversary of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King's legendary "I Have A Dream" speech, which was given on the Lincoln Memorial during 1963's March on Washington.

The stage built for Obama's speech looks like a Greek temple, prompting political pundits to name it "Barackopolis: The Temple of Obama".

Obama's speech will cap off Thursday's schedule of the Democratic National Convention and officially wrap up the DNC. Days later, the Republican National Convention will begin in St. Paul, Minnesota.
