Jimmy Carter is “resting comfortably” after being rushed to a Cleveland hospital when his flight landed. A spokesperson for the former president’s nonprofit organization Carter Center says Carter experienced an “upset stomach.”
"While on a flight to Cleveland, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter developed an upset stomach, and, upon arrival, was taken to Metro Health Hospital for observation. He is resting comfortably and is expected to resume his book tour this week,” spokeswoman Deanna Congileo.
Paramedics met Carter’s plane at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and rushed him to Metro Health Hospital. Carter, 85, was scheduled to sign copies of his new book, White House Diary, at a bookstore in Lyndhurst. The book signing has reportedly been canceled.
