Eiffel Tower Evacuated For Second Time in 1 Month

Authorities began evacuating the Eiffel Tower Tuesday after a bomb threat was called in from a phone booth near the landmark. No other details on the threat were released. Tuesday’s threat and evacuation is the second such incident in less than a month.

On September 14, the tower and surrounding areas were evacuated after the company that manages the site received a bomb threat over the phone. Paris police combed the area but did not find an explosive divorce.

The 1,063 foot iron tower was built in 1889.
