College Football Scores: #23 Wake Forest Open Season with Win Over Baylor

Wake Forest was sure not to disappoint their fans as they opened the season ranked #23 in the country and they showed why on Thursday night as the Demon Deacons went into Waco, Texas and pounded the Baylor Bears 41-13.

Riley Skinner looked solid throughout the night as the Deacons quarterback finished 27/36 for 220 yards and three touchdowns. Two of those TD tosses came in the third quarter where Wake Forest put the game to bed.

Heading into that third quarter Wake held a 20-6 advantage but Skinner hit Chip Brinkman for an 8-yard TD, Brinkman’s second touchdown of the game, and then found Ben Wooster on a 43-yard touchdown pass and the Deacons were up 34-6 at the end of the quarter.

Wake rolled up 376 total yards in the game while the Bears put up 250 yards but turned the ball over five times.

Wake Forest will take on Ole Miss. next week.
