Increased need for affordable addiction treatment

Health care crisis highlights need for affordable addiction treatment

With the growing economic problems that America faces, it is unfortunate that many times the last expense considered is health care costs.

The need for affordable addiction treatment hasn’t been greater, however. As the economy continues to slide backwards, more people begin turning to temporary fixes such as alcohol because of their stress in dealing with their economic struggles.

“It’s an historic trend that we see each time there is a decline in the economy,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center. “People begin turning to readily available and abused substances such as alcohol and marijuana and become what they would consider as ‘casual users’. Unfortunately, as stresses continue and increase, that casual use grows in frequency and begins to cause real upheavals within their life resulting in the need for addiction treatment. And, many don’t realize that they truly do have a problem until that downward spiral begins - when they begin missing work or important engagements, when they begin withdrawing socially; when relationships begin changing due to increased using. They then get a wake-up call and many are left wondering how they are going to become sober and get the help that they need. Fortunately, affordable addiction treatment is available at Mountainside for a fraction of the cost of most alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs.”

Recent published studies indicate that America’s problem with alcohol and drugs has increased nearly 10 percent in recent years. In addition, those same studies have shown that only 11 percent of substance abusers are getting the treatment they need to live a life of sobriety.

Since its inception, Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center has been committed to creating ways that will help individuals to get and remain sober. The compassionate, caring treatment team at Mountainside is comprised of licensed and certified counselors and social workers as well as an on-staff Nurse Practitioner and a Registered Nurse, both of whom have specializations and extensive experience in drug addiction and alcohol treatment. For clients who may have psychiatric issues and/or a dual diagnosis, Mountainside provides the services of a Psychiatrist who also has specialization in addictions. As a result of their unique, innovative approaches to addiction treatment over the past 12 years, Mountainside has become the model for the addiction treatment field.

The program, along with its professional addiction treatment team, has earned national recognition and resulted in Mountainside being invited to Washington by the White House to meet with the White House Drug Czar, John P. Waters, for an in-depth meeting on what makes its program so successful. These accolades did not go unnoticed within the addiction treatment field and resulted in the adoption by many throughout the country of a more holistic approach to drug addiction treatment.
