Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan was back in court to face Judge Elden Fox after a recent positive drug test for a controlled substance. As a result, she was ordered to spend the next four weeks in jail while she waits for a probation revocation hearing.
“The actress showed no emotion as deputies handcuffed her hands behind her back and walked her out of the Beverly Hills courtroom,” CCN.com reported, adding, “Her father, who watched the short hearing from the rear of the courtroom, showed his own anger outside after his daughter was taken away.”
Michael Lohan told CNN.com, "It's a horrible situation. I just hope the judge remands Lindsay to a rehab for a longer period of time and the people in Lindsay's life that are destroying her life and leading her down the wrong path are weeded out."
Lohan’s Rehab and Jail Past
Lohan already spent 23 days in a court-ordered drug rehab program in summer 2010, following a 13-day jail stint imposed for a probation violation. Lindsay is required to submit to frequent drug tests as a result of supervised probation for a 2007 drunken driving conviction. She was warned by the judge in August 2010 that a failed test could send her back to jail.
"Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn't go away overnight," Lohan tweeted following her failed drug test. "I am working hard to overcome it and am taking positive steps … doing what I must do to prevent any mishaps in the future."
Lohan is scheduled to appear in court again Oct. 22, 2010.
