Reggae meets Irish Drinking Music in Atlanta Band The Bastard Suns

The Bastard Suns delivers a unique sound of reggae laced punk rock mixed with Irish drinking music.  Inspired by artists such as Social Distortion, NOFX, Bob Marley, Guns & Roses, Slipknot and Slayer the band describes themselves as “Sublime, Buju Banton, Face to Face, Cee-lo Green and Flogging Molly if they all had a huge, drunken orgy.”  Popular Atlanta music venue Smiths Olde Bar says, “If Sublime and The Drop Kick Murphys had children, they would be Bastard Suns.”

The Bastard Suns started as an acoustic set with vocalist Clayton Hiers and rhythm guitarist Kevin Howell.  The band eventually grew and after experiencing a few lineup changes, the five piece band plays regularly around the southeast.  The band will be playing in Florida, South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee until October before they hit the studio to record their next album.  Go to www.yourfindit.com/thebastardsuns for a full list of upcoming shows.
