A report surfaced recently that the federal authorities have a large number of x-ray machines for providing speedier and superior security checkups at border checkpoints and vital installations. OK, that sounds good as far as homeland security is concerned. But is it possible that the feds are radiating Americans unintentionally?
Rescue Us
Alarm bells have already started ringing among health care circles thinking perhaps this is a health hazard. This is very similar to mesothelioma, a very rare type of cancer that used to affect people working or staying close to asbestos factories. Mesothelioma lawyers came to the rescue of people who were victims of these kinds of poisoning and unhealthy conditions, but who will rescue Americans now?
Similarities
Though the reports of feds radiating Americans are in its initial stages, time can reveal the actual effects of radiation on people using these newly acquired machines. Worst affected of course will be the people operating these machines. This again reminds us of mesothelioma. Workers who used to work in factories using asbestos after a prolonged exposure to asbestos developed a type of cancer known as mesothelioma. Since this health condition is rare, its treatment is very expensive and at times can run into millions of dollars. The job of a mesothelioma attorney was to see to it that people suffering from mesothelioma received due compensation for this possibly and often times fatal health condition.
A Precarious Position
Something similar could be happening to security personnel at border check points; this is not a distant or exaggerated possibility. Though passengers have to spend a few seconds in these x-ray scanning machines, the people operating them would be spending an entire shift sitting and operating them. That places them in a high risk category and position.
Another Category
Some health care experts also believe that truck drivers, who usually are asked to pass their vehicles at border check points, are at equal risk. The reason being cited is these x-ray machines stringer radiation, which even in small quantities could be prove to be harmful. This again sounds very similar to people becoming sick due to asbestos and hence developing mesothelioma. But mesothelioma lawyers have been created for this purpose. If history repeats itself, which it often does, it seems there may be a set of radiation lawyers in the making.
