Fans of the Miami Dolphins are finding it hard to digest the defeat of their favorite team, maybe because they created many new records while losing the game to the New England Patriots.
The season has not been good for the Dolphins since the start. Things are so bad that some voices are already being raised calling for major changes in the team.
The Dolphins lost to the Patriots in a 41-14 meltdown, one of the worst defeats for the home team. There were many "new" things happening through the night and that does not include a kickoff that was returned for a touchdown. Three interceptions thrown by quarterback Chad Henne and another interception, which came later in the game, by backup Tyler Thigpen did not help the beleaguered team.
The Dolphins also set new NFL records when they scored on an interception return, a kickoff return and a blocked field goal; they also scored on a run and a pass.
The Patriots did not have to put up a good fight to win the game; the offensive was at the minimum. Rob Ninkovich was quick to made two interceptions that clinched his team two field goals in the first half. Special teams of the Patriots filled the tally of the remaining 21 points.
The second half was not much better as Patriots kick returner Brandon Tate ran for a 103-yard kickoff return, the longest in special team history. The game quickly went to the Patriots after that point.
The Dolphins have lost two consecutive games in the division as they also lost the previous match to the Jets.
