Monday’s “Dancing With The Stars” contest saw the return of story night to the DWTS set, and everyone was trying not to cringe. While the room was full of waltzes and foxtrots, the night was supposed to be all about the ‘plot’ of the dance, but it really failed to impress.
While the leaders on the scoreboard continued to do well, with Audrina Partridge and “Dirty Dancing” star Jennifer Gray vying for top place, the less-than-impressive dancers really made audiences wince with their efforts.
Comedian Margaret Cho was all out of whack, and out of breath in her story-less ‘gay pride’ number, with a lot of shimmying, but not much of anything else. The judges deplored her lazy footwork and she failed to keep time.
The judges finally noticed that Bristol Palin, celebrity-by-relation, can’t actually dance very well and her ‘homeless man dancing for food’ routine was lackluster. She left audiences perplexed as to why the young lady dancing with the homeless man didn’t actually give him food in the end. The judges came down pretty heavy to give her only 19 points, a slight lead over Cho.
Luckily both Cho and Palin were out-danced, in a bad way, by Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino. Sorrentino’s time-themed foxtrot saw him heading for the future, but don’t think that skipping out on the present will save Sorrentino from elimination. While the judges weren’t as harsh on Sorrentino as the dance perhaps warranted, it is hotly speculated that Sorrentino will be joining crooner Michael Bolton on the ‘axed’ list from DWTS.
