New Study Shows Additional Damage From Smoking Marijuana

It has long been known and recognized the harm marijuana smoking can do.  However, a new study in the British Journal of Psychiatry shows there is additional harm to memory.

According to Narconon Suncoast, a non-profit drug and alcohol rehabilitation center, located in Spring Hill, Florida, marijuana use generally leads to further drug use and addiction. For some time they have noted the connection between marijuana and harder street drugs. Narconon often find addicts who have been on a multitude of street drugs whose habit started with marijuana use.

The current study also points out that the current strains of marijuana, now being distributed in society, are far worse than previous strains, leading to serious memory impairment. Narconon has long reported the dangers of drugs in their youth drug education materials. Marijuana is often considered mild; however, this is far from the truth. The current marijuana distributed has about 400 chemicals in its smoke with 60 of these known to cause cancer and is far more toxic than it ever was.

In addition to the memory problems, anxiety, loss of coordination and high risk of cancer resulting from smoking marijuana, there is the startling fact that 60% of teenagers in drug treatment programs are there because of marijuana.  Narconon Suncoast has witnessed this first hand.

However, for those already using drugs, Narconon Suncoast does offer a solution which other drug treatment programs do not. They deliver the New Life Detoxification program. This sauna program has been used worldwide and has been proven to safely flush out of the system, drug deposits and other toxic residuals.  In fact, the program has been so successful in removing toxins that it has been used in New York by a great number of firefighters and other rescue workers to cleanse their bodies from the many toxic agents to which they were exposed during and after the 9/11 disaster.

Marijuana is far from a "light drug" and its physical and mental damage can be substantial. This is why the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration has categorized marijuana as having no medical use and of the highest potential for abuse.

In spite of all this, the damage from drug use and addiction can be stopped, reversed and repaired. Narconon Suncoast does just that.  With their New Life Detoxification program and their full battery of Life Improvement courses, they turn drug addicts into drug-free, productive members of society.
