Narconon Arrowhead Participates in Red Ribbon Week

Enrique (Kiki) Camarena dedicated his life to battling the destruction of drug and alcohol addiction and believed that one person could make a difference.  In 1985 the undercover DEA agent who was on the trail of the country’s biggest marijuana and cocaine traffickers, was killed in Mexico.  In honor of Camarena’s memory, friends, parents and neighbors began forming coalitions and embraced his belief that one person can make a difference.  These coalitions also adopted the symbol of Camarena’s memory, the red ribbon that has lived on for the last 22 years through Red Ribbon Week.

Narconon Arrowhead is a long-term, inpatient, residential rehabilitation facility that is one of the largest, most effective and successful in the nation.  This prominent addiction treatment center actively participates in Red Ribbon Week each year, raising awareness throughout the community by delivering drug education lectures and seminars to businesses and schools in the community. Last year the organization was able to educate nearly 10,000 people and plans to help even more this year during the week.

Narconon Arrowhead also offers free addiction counseling and has Certified Chemical Dependency Counselors available 7 days a week to assist in helping with treatment options and answering any questions in regards to drug and alcohol abuse and addiction for those who are struggling with addiction problems or their loved ones.

Narconon Arrowhead is dedicated in its commitment towards a Drug Free America and is uniting with the nation to take a visible stand against substance abuse.  Recently, this organization took part in a community campaign called “Take McAlester Back” to promote a drug free lifestyle and brings arts and creativity back to the city. The campaign was started by local groups in the area and is key for individuals to have a drug free environment to participate in the arts.

Narconon Arrowhead takes pride in successfully helping hundreds of individuals and families overcome drug and alcohol addiction every year through community participation as well as drug prevention efforts and rehabilitation.  They have seen the hopelessness and devastation addictions have caused the community, families and individuals and are dedicated to providing workable solutions to those still suffering, especially during Red Ribbon Week.
