Red Ribbon Week an Abstinence

Kiki Camarena was an 11-year veteran of the DEA in the eighties. He was assigned the job of investigating the Mexican drug cartels. After many years of undercover work, and on the brink of taking down a multi-billion dollar organization, Camarena was captured and brutally tortured and murdered. In honor of Camarena, Red Ribbon Week was founded to show the world that sobriety and abstinence can be achieved. Thousands of children and adults pledge every year to remain drug-free by wearing red ribbons.  Unfortunately, drug and alcohol abuse is still a nation-wide epidemic but there is a way to effectively handle drug abuse, enroll in a drug and alcohol treatment center.

Narconon Louisiana is a long-term, inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility that has tripled the industry’s success rate. Successfully keeping 76% of their graduates drug and alcohol free two years after program completion. Keeping in line with Kiki Camarena’s fight, Narconon Louisiana is ensuring that more and more people are able to wear that red ribbon proudly.

Part of the Narconon approach and a key to its success is the Narconon New Life Detoxification Program. Clients safely detox their bodies in a dry heat sauna. This allows the drug toxins and residues that have stored in the body and are responsible for cravings, to release through the sweat glands. By eliminating the constant presence of cravings in an addict, Narconon Louisiana rehabilitates addicts so they do not have to go through life with drug cravings and subsequent relapsing.

Despite the popular viewpoint that addiction is a disease, Narconon Louisiana attributes much of its success to finding out the problem or problems drugs and alcohol solved. Working one on one with a trained counselor, addicts are able to get to the bottom of what started drug and/or alcohol use in the first place. In addition to individualized counseling, clients have an opportunity to take responsibility for the transgressions, or wrongdoings they have accumulated throughout their drug use. For the first time, addicts are given the opportunity to change.

For those who are suffering from a drug or alcohol condition, abstinence and sobriety are not unattainable. Contact Narconon Louisiana at 866-422-4650 for more information and find out how you or your loved one can live a drug-free, productive life.
