Patriots Trade Moss to Vikings after Dolphins Victory

The New England Patriots traded wide receiver Randy Moss to the Minnesota Vikings after his lackluster performance this season; the Vikings are his original team.

The trade off was a draft pick as the Vikings wanted to add Moss to beef up their pass catching help for star quarterback Brett Favre. The team has yet to see any major victory and this might hamper their earlier plans of advancing all the way to the top. The Patriots will receive a draft choice in the trade off but they have not revealed the name of the player though there are speculations of a third-round selection next spring.

There are no confirmed reports about Moss reuniting with his old team by signing a new contract and some even suggest there have not been any negotiations started yet. Moss is playing the last season of his current contract.

Moss, 33, did not have a good play this season as he had nine catches in four games for the Patriots and did not have any during the Monday's team victory over the Miami Dolphins 41-14.

Moss played his first seven NFL seasons for the Vikings and was clinched by the Oakland Raiders for the eight. He has been playing with the Patriots for the last four seasons.

Moss has brilliant career records with the Patriots as he played three straight 1,000-yards receiving for the team and created major hype when he had 98 catches for 1,493 yards in 2007; he also made an NFL-record 23 touchdowns in the process.

Moss had a total of 83 catches for 1,264 yards and 13 touchdowns during the last season.
