The Forbes list of the 100 most powerful women is out. No surprises that First Lady Michelle Obama tops the list at number one, but some may question what Lady Gaga is doing higher on the list than the woman who is second-in-line for the US presidency, Nancy Pelosi.
The makers of the list take into account the person’s wealth, creative influence, executive position and entrepreneurship. Both Michelle Obama and Nancy Pelosi, who is next-in-line after Joe Biden for the presidency had their ‘wealth’ category calculated as the nation income (a cool $3.5 trillion) so Gaga must be doing well in the creative influence and entrepreneurship categories to out-big Pelosi.
Oprah Winfrey comes in at number 3 on the
list, with Lady Gag the next media personality on the list at number 7. Gaga
earned $62 million last year, as well as "single-handedly reinvigorated
pop music and pop culture." So Pelosi needs to get her pop on if
she wants to get ahead of Gage next year.
Beyonce Knowles also had a mention at number 9 with $87 million. The fact that First Lady, and most powerful woman Michelle Obama favors Knowles’ music also got a mention by Forbes.
Ellen DeGeneres came in at number 10 with $55 million. Both celebrities come in above Pelosi, who scored 11th place on the list. If she can wear a meat dress, sing a song which Michelle Obama likes and start her own talk show, maybe Pelosi will be in at number two on the Forbes list next year; its simply not enough to be number two for the presidency these days.
