Poll: Only 22% Believe Palin Can Be A Capable President
Overall opinions of Sarah Palin continue to be negative, a recent poll by CBS News show, with less than one out of four Americans expressing a positive view of the ex Alaska governor. About half (48%) see her unfavorably. Democrats and independents are far less likely than Republicans to see her favorably.
Even though Palin hasn't ruled out the possibility of running for presidency in 2012, only 22% Americans think that she is capable of effectively leading the country, while 64% say she can't be an effective leader. This opinion is shared by most Democrats and independents. Republicans, on the other hand, appear to be more divided. More Republicans believe that Palin can't be a capable president than believe she does.
While the majority of Americans are yet to establish an opinion of Tea Party, views amongst those who have are mixed. Around 22% Americans have a positive view of the Tea Party movement, whereas nearly as many see it unfavorably (21%). The majority of people (56%) say that they are either undecided or don't know much about it yet.
Fewer than half (47%) of voters who call themselves supporters of Tea Party believe that Palin can be a capable president, whereas 39% think otherwise. Unsurprisingly, the Tea Party movement is much more popular amongst Republican voters.
The survey was conducted with 1,129 respondents nationwide, using random sampling. It complied with the Standards of Disclosure of the National Council on Public Polls.
