The UCLA Bruins upset the #19 Tennessee Volunteers, 27-24, on Labor Day in Rick Neuheisel's debut as the head coach of his alma mater.
UCLA QB Kevin Craft threw four interceptions in the first half, but had a great second half to help lead the Bruins to the win. Craft ended the game 25-for-43 for 259 yards and a touchdown.
Craft's first touchdown came with 27 seconds left in the fourth quarter, giving UCLA a 24-21 lead. Tennessee kicker Daniel Lincoln then hit a 47-yard field goal to send the game into overtime.
UCLA kicker Kai Forbath hit a 42-yard field goal to give the Bruins a 27-24 lead. Lincoln then missed a field goal from 34 yards.
Tennessee QB Jonathan Crompton was 19-of-41 for 189 yards. Arian Foster led the Vols with 13 carries and 96 yards, while Montario Hardesty had 12 carries for 66 yards and two touchdowns.
Tennessee will take on UAB on Sept. 13, while UCLA takes on BYU on Sept. 13 as well.
