Missouri WR Jeremy Maclin Probable This Week After Suffering Ankle Injury

Missouri wide receiver Jeremy Maclin is probable this week after sustaining an injury on Saturday's game.

Maclin, who missed the entire 2006 season with a knee injury, suffered a tendon strain in his left ankle during the #6 Tigers' 52-42 win against #20 Illinois.

Maclin landed awkwardly during a pass play during the fourth quarter. He was then carried out on a cart, but returned to the field in crutches.

Maclin, who set an NCAA freshman record for all-purpose yards last season, had a 99-yard kickoff return and 234 all-purpose yards for the Tigers.

Maclin entered the season on several All-American lists and is considered a viable Heisman Trophy candidate, along with his quarterback Chase Daniel, who was a runner-up last season. Maclin, the multi-threat receiver, is considered one of the most versatile and dangerous players in college football.

In other injury news for Missouri, safety William Moore, who led the nation with eight interceptions last season, was in a walking cast on Monday with a sprained foot. Missouri head coach Gary Pinkel said most likely Moore will be held out this week.

Missouri plays Southeast Missouri State in the home opener on Saturday. It is uncertain if Maclin will play or will be held out of that game.
