Adrian Beltre and Stephen Drew both hit for the cycle on Monday, becoming the first pair of MLB players to do in 88 years.
Both Beltre and Drew were 5-for-5 and led their respective teams to victory.
Beltre, the Seattle Mariners third baseman, became the fourth Seattle player to hit for the cycle. He is just the fourth third baseman to go 5-for-5 and hit for the cycle in the last 50 years and first since Travis Fryman in 1993.
Beltre also tied a Seattle record with five runs in the 12-6 win against the Texas Rangers.
Beltre homered in the second, had an RBI single in the fourth, and singled in the sixth. He then doubled in Seattle's four-run seventh inning and hit an RBI triple to deep center in the eighth inning.
Drew, the Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop, hit for the cycle earlier Monday against the St. Louis Cardinals, helping the D-backs win 8-6. Drew's five hits and cycle became the first in Chase Field history.
Drew singled in the first, tripled in the third and homered in the fifth. He hit a ground-rule double in the seventh as the D-backs fans gave him a standing ovation.
Drew added another double in the eighth for his fifth hit, matching a career high and a franchise record.
It was the first time two Major League players hit for the cycle on the same day since Sept. 17, 1920, when Bobby Veach of the Detroit Tigers and George Burns of the New York Giants did it.
