Bears Tackle Panthers with a 23-6 Victory

The Chicago Bears proved yet again that they can stage a strong comeback by taking a 23-6 lead over the Carolina Panthers and defeating them at their home turf. Jay Cutler was not part of the winning team because of his concussion; he was filled in by Todd Collins.

The Bears have taken an overall lead of 4-1 by winning the game and they will now face the Seattle Seahawks next Sunday.

The Bears put up a great show and made many great moves that effectively put an end to any offensive plans that the Panthers had. The Bears also paid equal attention to their defense and limited Carolina to just two field goals and a total offense spanning 147 yards.

Todd Collins was not a good fill in for the star Cutler as he made a total of 10 passes in the game, four to the rival team. The Bears may go with Caleb Hanie next Sunday as he replaced Cutler in the third quarter of the match; the Bears were not eager to let the Panthers return in the game. Collins' passer rating of 6.2 and his completion of just 6 of the 16 passes for 32 yards might have upended his chances of playing the next game, which he called the worst performance of his career.

The Bears lost to the New York Giants last week and the win has boosted their spirits for the next game. Football fans will be closely watching the game against the Seahawks as that will finalize the top contenders for the season.
