“Jersey Shore” will have to have a welcome back party planned for Mike ‘The Situation” Sorrentino, who danced his last on “Dancing With the Stars” on Tuesday.
The reality TV star, famous for his chiseled belly, and his love of flashing it to whoever will take a gander, or a picture, was eliminated from DWTS Tuesday. Sorrentino and his professional partner Miss Karina Smirnoff were on last place after performing a “terrible mess” of an Argentinean tango on Monday.
Judge Len Goodman said that the lackluster performance was consistent; it was "It was bad throughout."
Sorrentino put on a brave face, saying that he had given the competition his all, "I told myself if I got eliminated today, I put it all on the floor last night," he said. "So if it [happened], I'd bow out gracefully." Not so gracefully as to say that he thought the judges had scored him unfairly, "The judges were so unpositive [sic] and didn't even see the work I put in, didn't even see the progress I made this week and you know what, you know what? I'm done with this.”
The voting public made the final decision to see Sorrentino ousted, and the reality star joins Michael Bolton, Margaret Cho and David Hasselhoff in the line up of eliminated contestants.
Tuesday’s DWTS episode was not all sour grapes though, with performances by Florence + The Machine and The Goo Goo Dolls.
Jennifer Grey, of “Dirty Dancing” fame, remains the contender to beat in the popular dancing competition.
