LeBron James suffered what is the dreaded injury for most athletes – hamstring – and left the court during the third quarter of Miami Heat's exhibition against the CSKA Moscow.
James walked to the locker room with his hands clasping his right upper leg and with a noticeable grimace. The Heat went on to win the game 96-85 although his injury broke the trademark Triumvirate of the port city team.
The injury does not appear to be serious and it was most likely a cramp in that region. Coach Erik Spoelstra has given mixed signals about James' participation in the Wednesday's game at New Orleans. If James is unable to pull it through then Chris Bosh would be the only superstar remaining the Heat's game against the New Orleans, which is not a good sign for the team fans.
The victory for the Heat did not come easily as they struggled to find their niche against the CSKA and the zone defense and free-shooting offense of the rivals made the Heat players uneasy at times.
Bosh was the lead player again as he scored 17 points on 8 of 14 shooting and remained the top player with seven rebounds. Miami Heat made approximately 48.7 percent of its field goal attempts to cover 17 team turnovers.
Trajan Langdon of CSKA Moscow led his team with 20 points off the bench and rallied the players behind in mounting a strong offensive. Ramunas Siskauskas failed to take his team to victory despite draining four of his first five shots for nine first-quarter points and finishing with a total of 15.
